I waddle when I walk!
I did the funky penguin shuffle with such pre-natal prowess yesterday that the lady of the coffee shop chuckled out loud and gave me an extra large slice of cake in sympathy.
Now I have ticked the full contingent of maternity stereotypes.
Over emotional reactions to mundane television
Being irresistably drawn to small fluffy animals
Irritational fits of unexplained rage
Heartburn, acid reflux, gas implosions
A cacophony of audio effects: Moaning, puffing, panting, grunting
Back ache, headache, foot ache
Impaired memory and limited brain function
Inflatable breasts and a bottomless bladder
The penguin waddle
(Couldn't get through a night without these)
Lisa.
ReplyDeleteI had believed your blog had drifted to a conclusion somewhere in the caribean and so I had stopped checking in.
This morning a missed click in favites and I find there is a new chapter, and a very execiting one, in fact the biggest challenge of all is facing you, a new life.
A blank sheet of parchement with a hidden story weaved into the fabric.
On many days it will be frustrating, sometimes driving you mad, but it will be well worth all the effort, time, commitment, honestly,
And who knows maybe you have started a new free spirit on the route to adventure, or, possibly, an accountant LoL.
Either way it will not matter you will have done your best, which is all any of us can do, and you will finally understand that not everything can be controled.
Not long now if he/she comes on time, or maybe like you, will make ther own decision and decide to join us early.
The next chapter is about them but keep some time for your self.
Babies are musch much tougher than you imagine, sleep on planes as long as you clear their ears for take off an landing.
Love traveling and seeing new places, people, wheter its the supermarket, or a market stall in India.
Some get the gypsy spirit from birth, my wife and I, others are stay at home, our youngest daughter (18), or so we thought. She won a school debating competionprize 10 day trip to Uganda. She loved it, wants to go back, maybe my African dream and years of travel to Asia has slipped into her subconcious.
Whatever happens enjoy.
Victor
p.s. I wrote this on Pulau Weh, Acheh, Indonesia, Wiating for my first dive of the day,
